Better day 09.

“Stop listing. Start doing.”

Did you make a todo list today, or yesterday? Filled with things you should, need, or intend to have done? Do you really intend to do them? Maybe you write these lists every day? Do they keep getting longer?

It's easy to write lists. It makes us feel like we've done something. But we haven't. In the time it takes to sit and add an item to the list, you might have been able to just do the action. Like, "phone my sister", "check bank account", or "fix the tap". You add these things to the list, you feel like you've taken action. But instead, you've just deferred doing something.

If you just did one thing today, what would it be? Do it. Don't add it to a todo list. Throw away your todo list. You'll remember the important things. Or they'll remember you.

Today's thought is from the series '31 Ways to Have a Better Day'.
