2021 EVENTS

Sacred Poetry

Location: Online at Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.
Dates: November 2021.
Facilitators: Andō and Zenju Earthlyn Manuel.

Details: Exploring the sacred within poetry, the focus of this retreat is to engage wisdom poetry as spiritual guidance. It is therefore important that you have real experience of a sustained meditation/ contemplative practice to serve as a resource for the discussion and activities that will be shared by the facilitators.

The activities and conversations will be drawing from your source of insight through meditation practice, not just from your experience with writing or reading and enjoying poetry.

Registration: Bookings are no longer available for this event.

2020 EVENTS

The Poetry of Silence

Location: London.
Date: 13 January 2020.
Facilitator: Andō.

Details: An evening of silence, tea and poetry with Andō.

Join us in this rare opportunity for a gathering with contemplative poet, author and silence facilitator Andō in the UK.

Andō is a qualified Zen meditation and mindfulness teacher, and has devoted her life full time to the spiritual path since 2012, studying and residing in the communities of masters of Zen and Advaita. Also a spiritual director, since 2017 Andō has also studied the paths of Sufism, Christian contemplatives and mystics of all faiths, seeking out the common root of all faiths.

A student of tea, she loves to share the experience with others in silence.

Andō will lead us in silence, with traditionally served teas of China and Japan. She will then share a quiet talk on the poetry of silence, followed by selected readings of her own Zen poetry and that of the masters of Zen, Ch'an, Daoist and Sufi poetry.
