Naviar haiku 220.
a quiet garden —
in the silence
a rain drop
The haiku of the week was kindly offered by Zen teacher, writer and Naviar’s longtime friend Ando.
I had the chance to have a chat with her in 2016, when we diiscussed meditation and creativity, as well as the relationship between poetry and music. You can read the interview here.
“[…] silence is not so much a recurring theme in my works, as the source all my work, whether it be poetry, writings, meditation, contemplation, retreat or silence itself. All my work arises from silence, in one way or another. Both silence and sound are inseparably connected. Sound arises from silence. When considered from the ultimate, all things, all perceptions, arise from silence.”
— Andō
