The mountain speaks.
“When a bird sings, you feel the calmness of the mountain… more than when you did not hear any sound.”
— Shunryū Suzuki Roshi
Exhausted beyond bounds, I give up, letting go of any idea of achievement, attainment or success.
This body, this mind, worn from lives lived, drained yet continuing.
It’s not my choice to continue or to give up.
Exhausted beyond bounds, I could think of giving up.
Not on life, but on any idea it is mine, to hold, to live, or even to give up.
What if I just sit, empty of loss, or gain?
Just sit.
Like a mountain sits.
