It's Bodhidharma Day.

Celebrated each 5 October, Bodhidharma Day celebrates the founder of Ch’an/Zen Buddhism, Bodhidharma, the first Ch'an patriarch.

Bodhidharma was a Buddhist monk, who journeyed to bring the Dharma from India to China.
