Living zen retreat / Day 23.

“One does not climb to attain enlightenment, rather one climbs because he is enlightened.”
– Zen Master Futomaki

We often look ahead at our life, and see a mountain to climb. Don’t climb the mountain, be the mountain. Right now.

Enter the silence…

Just sitting.

Nothing to do.

Nothing is missing.

Just sitting.

The ego-mind will search and search for something to do. Finding nothing, it will try to create something. But let it have nothing. Give it nothing. Buy nothing from it. Leave it be.

Simply be present.

Be who you really are.

This is the essential art of zazen.

Spare, elegant, simple, true.

This is the essential nature of being.

Enter the silence, and simply be
