Better day 03.

“Chop wood. Carry water.”

Just go about your business today. Keep it simple. Be present.

You can find enlightenment in the simplest things in life. Brushing your teeth, sweeping the garden path, doing the laundry. All of these are paths to enlightenment. It's not about what you're doing to get there, it's about the state of mind you're doing it in.

With a mind focused on the task, you can achieve enlightenment as easily as through spending hours sat meditating on your mat. Find the highest state of being in the most ordinary of activities. Find your light in the simple things.

("Chop wood, carry water" comes from an old Zen proverb)
