How to live

Today, I received a question about how I live:

“I would appreciate if you could possibly share how you are going living the way you do in the world.”

This is how —

Naturally. Simply. Truly. Freely. Without plan.

I don't plan my day, I live it. I don't live life. I am life, living.

When I read the following quote from the Hua Hu Ching, I realised that it describes exactly how I live, as this is a perfect description of my day today:

“Those who wish to know the whole truth take joy in doing the work and service that comes to them.

Having completed it, they take joy in cleansing and feeding themselves.

Having cared for others and themselves, they then turn to the master for instruction.

This simple path leads to peace, virtue, and abundance.”

— Lao Tzu, Hua Hu Ching (the unknown teachings of Lao Tzu)

In Zen, there is also the saying:

“Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water, after enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.”

It's as simple as this.

I allow everything. I trust. I remain open. I am prepared to be hungry, thirsty, sick, whatever shows up. I neither live nor work from a position of fear.

This is how I live.

You don't live life. You are life, living.

Realise this, and there is no problem.

Because life is giving us exactly what we need, at any given moment.

There is a belief for those seeking enlightenment, that it will move to support us. But I see that it is simply that we realise that everything that is here in our life is here to support us. Already.

Live.

You don't even have to do that.

You are life.
