How to move, and be still.

”Moving, be like water.
Still, be like a mirror.
Responding like an echo.”

— Bruce Lee

Contemplating these beautiful, poetic words from Bruce Lee, brought me to explore the definition of Self, and Self in action, the nature of doing, and the nature of being.

Perhaps we sometimes may need to move like water, perhaps sometimes like the wind. Other times, maybe we need to be still like a mirror, or like a stone.

Who decides on how we move?

Are we not the moving but not moving one? Are we not still, and yet present in the movement also? Are we not a mirror, as much as we are an echo?

Do we need to move, to be still, or respond?

Or can we simply allow, be open?
